SAT

Students applying for admission to undergraduate programs must take the SAT, a standardized test given by the College Board. The Scholastic Assessment Test, formerly known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test, is the full name of the SAT. This exam is created to assess candidates’ verbal, mathematical, and written abilities. All applicants to college programs, mainly in the US and Canada, must take the SAT exam, administered on paper and pencil. Students who take the exam can more easily reach their college goals. Before June 2021, students who wanted to enroll in a specific course had to take the SAT topic test. The College Board, however, has chosen to stop providing its subjects.

Why SAT?

The SAT is taken by students who want to enroll in college programs in the US. Most US universities require the exam for admission to undergraduate programs. In addition, many schools now give students SAT scholarships based on their test scores.

Different SATs

The College Board’s SAT 1, often known as the Scholastic Assessment Test, is required of applicants to undergraduate programs. The SAT 1 is a general test to evaluate applicants’ verbal, mathematical, and writing skills. The SAT 2 is an exam that is more subject-specific in comparison. Students requesting admission to a particular course must take its Subject Test to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject. Beginning in June 2021, the College Board won’t continue to offer SAT Subjects. Aspirants only need to take the SAT 2023 to be admitted to their preferred UG program.
